A-Sun Cross Country Rises in USTFCCCA Region Poll

NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its first regional rankings for the NCAA Division I 2011 season and seven A-Sun teams appeared in the top-15 of the South Region.

Belmont jumped up to sixth in the men's poll, while North Florida claimed the six-spot in the women's poll. Jacksonville's women's team and ETSU's men's squad made their first appearances in the poll after missing out in the preseason poll. Lipscomb women's team jumped three spots to No. 7, the men's team improved one slot to No. 12. The Ospreys' men's squad stayed put in No.10 in the South Region.

Seven teams are in action this weekend with Belmont, Lipscomb and FGCU competing against one another in the Commodore Classic.
