MACON, Ga. - Two Atlantic Sun Men's Cross Country squads cracked the ranks of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Poll on Monday.
Lipscomb finished a strong week with a first-place finish at the Vanderbilt Invite to rank No. 6 in the South Region according to USTFCCCA.
ETSU landed in the regional poll at No. 10 after competing in the Vanderbilt Invite.
A-Sun Men's Cross Country Notes (#ASunXC):
NKU's J.J. Webber continued his winning streak by taking the individual title at the Vanderbilt Invite. Webber clocked a time of 25:58.38 on the Vaughn's Gap Course that the A-Sun Championship will be held at in November. The win marked Webber's second of the season after crossing the line first at the Queen City Invitational.
ETSU finished third in the Vanderbilt Invite and were led by sophomore Angus Baldwin who finished the course in 25:27.32 and an 11th-place overall finish.
North Florida and FGCU tied for fourth place in the Mountain Dew Invitational with 143 points against competitors from Florida, Auburn, Tennessee and Miami. Both the Ospreys and the Eagles grabbed a team win in their first meet of the season as UNF earned first-place at the UNF 110% Invite and FGCU got a victory at Westminster Academy Collegiate Invitational.
In USC Upstate first meet of the season, senior Ross Oden led the charge as he crossed the line first with a time of 26:16.67 at the Eye Opener Invite.
Mercer's Sony Prosper has led the Bears in their first two meets of the season.
