BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Over the past decades hundreds of runner’s have competed for Campbell University including current Head Coach, Ken Frenette. While, each runner comes away affected differently, many leave with a new-found admiration and respect for the sport. For some this manifests itself in a continued commitment to running as a coach. In the past five years a number of Campbell cross country alumni have joined coach Frenette in the coaching ranks.
Ten former Campbell runners have continued their commitment to running, by passing along the knowledge and passion they gained while running at Campbell to the next generation of runners. That is why they have decided to become cross country coaches.
“It’s great to see your former runners coaching,” said Frenette. “You always hope you made a positive impact on them during their time here.”
During the recent cross country season, Campbell hosted the Campbell invitational. In the high school meet Pat Shaw, Patrick Parsons and Darrin Guay, all brought their teams to the Campbell campus to compete in the meet.
