Macon, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference today announced its final 2006 October
Men's Cross Country Coaches Poll as voted by the league's 10 head coaches. For
the third month, Belmont received the most points with 80.
ETSU was selected second with 70 points, followed by Kennesaw State (60), Campbell
(49) and Gardner-Webb (46) rounding out the top five. ETSU and Kennesaw State
did not participate in the poll.
All 10 teams will be in action Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Atlantic Sun Championships
held at Gardner-Webb. The women will race at 9 am and the men will begin at
10 am. The Cross Country poll serves as the conference standings.
The 10-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., includes Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, North Florida
and Stetson, with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate to compete in 2007.
