Macon, Ga. – In the fourth of five polls, Belmont maintains a stronghold on
the top spot.
The Bruins captured eight of 11 possible first place votes on their way to
accumulating 116 total points. ETSU continues to hang on to second place with
98 points, while Kennesaw State (97) jumped to third place over Campbell (84).
Gardner-Webb (74) rounds out the top-5.
Currently ranked 11th in the NCAA South Region, the Bruins will compete at
the Pre-NCAA Meet today. Meanwhile, Campbell will compete at the Winthrop Fall
Classic, Gardner-Webb will run at the Appalachian Invitational, and Kennesaw
State and UNF will compete at the Georgia State Invitational.
The Cross Country poll serves as the conference standings and is announced
on the 1st and 15th of the month during the season. The poll consists of votes
from all 11 head coaches.
The Atlantic Sun Cross Country Championship will be held Saturday, October
29, 2005. Campbell University will serve as host.
