All Hale Lipscomb's Newest Golf Phenom - The City Paper

Dr. Ralph Samples has headed the Lipscomb golf program for 40 years. This past weekend he watched his No. 1 golfer take ownership of three of the program’s most-important records.
Junior Cody Hale became Lipscomb’s record holder for an 18-hole round (6-under-par), a 36-hole round (11-under-par) and a 54-hole tournament (12-under-par).
Hale won the Eastern Kentucky Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky., by six strokes. It’s the second year in a row Hale has taken medalist honors.
Samples lists Hale’s name with Will Brewer, a 1976 NAIA National Champion and Lipscomb athletics Hall of Famer, as players who impact a program in almost every way.
