Davies, Shaw Shine as Bucs Finish 7th at Mattaponi Springs

RUTHER GLEN, Va. – Sophomore Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) matched his career low for three-round score with a 4-under-par 212 and junior Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) posted his 12th career top three finish as the ETSU men’s golf team finished seventh Tuesday in the VCU/Mattaponi Springs Shootout at the Mattaponi Springs Golf Club.
Shaw, who finished tied for 7th on the individual leaderboard, enjoyed his best career finish, while Davies fired his second 67 of the tournament to finish third at 10-under 206. Other ETSU finishes included sophomore Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland) placing tied for 46th, while freshmen Adam Hodkinson (Dore, England) finished tied for 42nd.
