Frederic Sundberg took home the individual title at the Towson Invitational
while the Camels became the first A-Sun school to win a golf tourney this season

Tuesday, September 20, 2005 MARYVILLE, Md. –Fredric Sundberg won individual honors and Campbell claimed the team title Tuesday at the Towson Fall Invitational men’s golf tournament at Musket Ridge Golf Club. The Fighting Camels won their first tournament since April 2004 at the East Carolina Bradford Creek Intercollegiate by finishing the 36-hole event seven-under-par as a team. The Camels followed Monday’s four-under 284 with a 285 on Tuesday to better the 11-school field by 10 strokes. A sophomore from Gothenburg, Sweden, Sundberg won his second career championship, following a victory last February at the Charleston Southern Spring Kick-off Classic. His six-under 66 on Monday bettered his collegiate career low round by two shots. The 2005 Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Year also shaved two shots off his previous career best 36-hole score. |
