Wednesday, October 25, 2006 FARMVILLE, Va. - Kris Shepherd took home individual medalist honors and helped the Kennesaw State men's golf team to a first-place finish at the Poplar Hill Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. Shepherd took top prize after finishing the 54-hole event with a final score of one-under, 215 (75-68-72). Helped by the tournament-low round of 68, the win is the second of his career and the first for Shepherd in the Owls' Division I era. The Owls dominated the 13-team field with a final round score of 911. Host Longwood finished second, 14 strokes behind the Owls with a 925. James Madison (931), Liberty (939) and Temple (951) and Washington & Lee (951) rounded out the top five. |
