Tuesday, May 11, 2010 INDIANAPOLIS - For the third straight year, a pair of Atlantic Sun men's golf programs earned spots into NCAA Regional play as UNF joined conference champ ETSU in advancing to postseason play. The Buccaneers earned their 22nd postseason bid, fifth in as many years as a member of the Atlantic Sun, and will head north to New Haven, Conn. to take on The Course at Yale in the East Regional. ETSU earned the sixth seed behind UCLA, Texas, South Carolina, Virginia and Alabama. The 14-team field features six that earned automatic bids, paced by the Buccaneers. Like in 2008, UNF joined ETSU in regional play. The Ospreys received an at-large berth to play in College Station, Texas at the Traditions Club in the South Central Regional. UNF, ranked No. 21/22 earned the fourth seed in the 14-team region. Host Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Georgia own the top three spots. Kennesaw State's Jeff Karlsson earned of the 45 individual spots and will compete at nearby Capital City Club Crabapple in Atlanta. He becomes the second A-Sun men's golfer in as many years (and sixth in the last four years) to advance to regionals. Mercer's Bill Jones III tied for 40th at the Southeast Regional in 2009. Karlsson becomes the first golfer in Owls' history to qualify for the NCAA Division I Tournament Play at all three sites begins on Thursday, May 20 and runs through Saturday the 22nd.
