UNF, Dale Earn Golfweek.com Preseason Honors

Orlando, FL - Coming off a 2010 season that ended with the program's second appearance at the NCAA Championship, UNF begins the 2010-11 season ranked in Golfweek.com's preseason top 30. Osprey junior All-American Sean Dale headline's the website's Second Team.

In his first year at UNF, Dale captured the Atlantic Sun's Player of the Year honor after tallying 14 sub-par rounds with a season low 66 the Wolf Run Invitational, a tournament where he claimed the top individual finish. Dale finished in the top-10 six times and ranked as high as first in the country during the fall.

In NCAA play, he took 10th at the South Central Regional and finished as the low A-Sun representative at the NCAA Nationals, tying for 25th. PING and the Golf Coaches Association of America named Dale a Second Team All-America. Dale finished his season ranked 11th in the Golfstat Index and 19th in the Golfweek/Sagarin standings.

UNF advanced to the NCAA Championships for the second time, finishing 14th. The Ospreys finished their season ranked 22nd in the Golfstat Index and 20th in the Golfweek/Sagarin standings. The Ospreys scored 13 top-10 finishes, including 11 top-five and eight top-three finishes. UNF won two tournament titles this season including the John Hayt Intercollegiate and the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate.

In addition to Dale, the Ospreys return A-Sun Freshman of the Year Kevin Phelan, who qualified for the both the US Open and US Amateur. A third Osprey returning this fall, Kevin Aylwin, also participated at the US Amateur at Chambers Bay.
