Mazziotta Wins at Stetson; Named A-Sun's Top Golfer

MACON, Ga. – FGCU’s Dan Mazziotta led the Eagles to a second straight Stetson Invitational team title and captured the Medalist honors in the process to garner the Atlantic Sun’s November Golfer of the Month award, the conference announced on Wednesday.

GOLFER OF THE MONTH:
Dan Mazziotta, FGCU (Sr. – Fort Myers, Fla. – Sociology)

  • First A-Sun Golfer of the Month award.
  • Earned his second career individual title at the Stetson Invitational on Nov. 8-9
  • Led FGCU to a repeat championship
  • Finished at six-under par 210 for the three rounds to win by one stroke.
  • Mazziotta finished second in the field of 45 with 12 birdies
  • Finished in the top-10 in four of five fall tournaments and had a 71.7 stroke average.

 

OTHER NOMINEES:

  • Matt Moot (So., Stetson) – Led Stetson to team title at Hatter Classic; finished third
  • Matt Nagy (Jr., Kennesaw State) – Tied for second at Hummingbird Intercollegiate.
  • Sam Ryder (Sr., Campbell) – Tied for second place at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate
