MACON, Ga. – Kennesaw State’s Matt Nagy and ETSU’s Nina Muehl shined at the Barefoot at the Beach Invitationals, topping all Atlantic Sun finishers winning the A-Sun’s Men’s and Women’s Golfer of the Week awards, the conference announced on Wednesday.
MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK:
Matt Nagy, Kennesaw State (Jr. – Buena Vista, Ga. – Health and Physical Education)
- First A-Sun Golfer of the Week award
- Won the individual medalist at the Barefoot at the Beach Intercollegiate
• Helped the Owls win their fourth title of the season
- Owls bested 11-teams posting a 284-281-280/845, -19
- Nagy finished under par each of the three rounds
• Finishing with a 67-68-68/203, -13
WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK:
Nina Muehl, ETSU (Sr. – Vienna, Austria – Business Management)
- Second A-Sun Golfer of the Week award; Third A-Sun award
- Finished second at the Barefoot at the Beach Invitational
- Posted a three-round score of 1-over par 217 (71-74-72)
- Finished just three strokes back of the individual champion
- Helped the Buccaneers to a solid third-place showing in the event
OTHER MEN’S NOMINEES:
- Dan Mazziotta (Sr., FGCU) - Earned his fourth top-five finish this season - tying for fourth at the USF Invitational; His 69-67-73/209 set a season-low for a three-round tournament
- Matt Moot (Sr., Campbell) – Tied for ninth at the Barefoot at the Beach Invitational – his third top-10 finish this season
- Elliott Wickenden (So, Belmont) – Finished in a career-best tie for fourth at this week’s Samford Invitational; Posted a career-low 68 in the second and final round
OTHER WOMEN’S NOMINEES:
- Sarah Bejgrowicz (Sr., Campbell) – Tied for fourth at the Barefoot at the Beach Invitational for her fourth-straight top-10 finish
- Lacey Fears (Fr., Mercer) – Finished in a tie for 32nd at the Barefoot at the Beach Invitational; Fears has been Mercer’s top finisher in five of the team’s seven events
