MACON, Ga. – USC Upstate's Adam Goins won his second career tournament title as he helped the Spartans to first place at the Rutgers Invitational and in the process received his first Atlantic Sun Men's Golfer of the Week honor, announced Wednesday by the league office.
MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK:
Adam Goins, USC Upstate (So. – Gaffney, S.C. – History)
- First Career Golfer of the Week award; first for USC Upstate since March 2008
- Captured individual medalist honors at the Rutgers Invitational at even-par
- Shot back-to-back 69s in the second and third rounds to force a playoff
- Led Spartans to tournament title for second time in the past four appearances
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Elliott Wickenden (Jr., Belmont) – Tied for seventh at UK Bluegrass Fall Invitational for second career top-10 finish
- Hans Reimers (So., Mercer) – Finished tied for third at UTA/Waterchase Invitational at two-under par
- Rhys Enoch (Sr., ETSU) – Paced Bucs to a 12th place finish at the Northern Intercollegiate with 20th-place finish
