PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The men’s golf teams from ETSU, Jacksonville, Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate open their spring seasons Monday at the Sea Best Invitational, which is hosted by Jacksonville University at the PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.

Monday’s opening 36 holes will begin at 8 a.m., and fans can follow the live scoring via Golfstat.com. The Sea Best Invitational is the only home event for host Jacksonville, featuring 36 holes of play on Monday followed by the final 18 on Tuesday.

The tournament field is stout with more than half of the field ranking in the Top 100 in the nation and three in the Top 50. Along with host Jacksonville the field includes Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina (47th), East Carolina (70th), ETSU (75th), Florida Gulf Coast, Francis Marion, Georgia State (73rd), Jacksonville State (88th), Old Dominion, Tennessee (32nd), Texas A&M (26th), USC Upstate, Winthrop (82nd), and Wofford.

ETSU won the tournament in 2010, besting nationally-ranked Wake Forest and Clemson. Last season, Rhys Enoch tied for second at 2-over-par 218, which was two strokes back of tournament champion T.J. Vogel of Florida. Upstate will make its second appearance in the 54-hole tournament played at the Stadium Course and the third overall, having played the first tournament at the Valley Course. FGCU will also make its third appearance in the tournament, looking to build on its eighth-place finish last season.

The PLAYERS Stadium Course plays 7,122 yards and is a par-72.
