BRASELTON, Ga. – Jimmy Beck shot 71 and led a KSU charge that trimmed UNF's nine-stroke lead to one in the second round of the A-Sun Men’s Golf Championship at The Legends Course of Chateau Elan.

KSU sophomore Jimmy Beck spearheaded the Owls’ move, firing a 71 (-1) to mark the day’s only sub-par round.

North Florida shot 301 Monday, moving the squad’s tournament-leading total to 590. Kennesaw State’s 293 was a five-shot improvement on its first round efforts and positions the Owls in second place entering the final round for the second consecutive year.

ETSU (603) will start Tuesday in third place while Jacksonville (613) is fourth and Northern Kentucky (618) is fifth.

Kennesaw State sophomore Austin Vick (143) owns the individual lead after pairing Sunday’s 71 with an even-par 72 on Monday. He’s currently the only participant in the 50-player field to have an under-par score for the event. Vick began the second round in a four-way tie for first with UNF's Sean Dale and Kevin Phelan and ETSU's Scott Gibson.

Kennesaw State’s charge saw all four of its contributing scorers shoot 75 or better on Tuesday. Of the 50 participants, only 12 shot 75 or better in the second round as swirling winds continued to plague the field and sent the scoring average to 78.54.

North Florida attempts to defend its A-Sun title as play resumes Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. North Florida, Kennesaw State and ETSU are paired together and will go off the No. 1 tee box starting at 8:50 a.m.
