MACON, Ga. - Mercer's Trey Rule recorded a career-best finish and shared medalist honors at the SunTrust Gator Invitational to claim his first Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Golfer of the Week honor of the season.
Rule shared individual medalist honors with Florida State's Lebioda at the SunTrust Gator Invitational after firing rounds of 69 (-1), 70 (E) and 67 (-3) to outplay a field of 73 other competitors that included seven players ranked in the top 50 by Golfstat.com. His tie for first place was a career-best finish and his second top-5 placement of the 2013-14 academic year. Rule is currently ranked 72nd in the Golfstat Cup Standings with an average score of 70.89.
The junior will be back on the course March 2 at the USF Invitational in Dade City, Fla.
