MACON, Ga. ETSU standout Rhys Davies earned Atlantic Sun Conference Golfer of the Month honors for October after posting a string of impressive results against some of the nations top golfers.
Davies became the first back-to-back, outright winner of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate thanks to his victory in the event back on October 14-15. The Brigend, Wales, native posted three consecutive sub-par rounds to secure the three-stroke victory. With the victory, the senior ran his school record career wins total to eight. Davies also continued to climb the national rankings and is currently fifth in the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin Computer ranking, while he's also helped lead the ETSU men's team to a national team ranking of 11th.
Davies enjoyed a fourth-place finish in the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate, and he also found time to compete in the World Amateur Team Championships, firing a course record 64 during that event while helping his Welsh team to a fourth place showing. The senior landed 16th on the individual leaderboard in that event. He posted a 69.5 scoring average in nine October rounds. Davies majors in Sports Management.
