Thursday, January 14, 2010 MACON, Ga. - ETSU swept the first Atlantic Sun men’s track and field awards of 2010 with Duronal Monal earning track athlete honors and Ryan Beaver picking up the field athlete award. Monal picked up right where he left off from a month ago, as the senior sprinter raced to a title in the 60m dash on Friday night at the Clemson Invitational inside the Clemson Indoor Track. A Belle Glade, Fla. native who was fresh off a first-place title in the 55m dash in Boone, N.C., followed that up with a top finish in the 60m event at Clemson. The business major won the prelims with a time of 6.74 and capped off the finals with a win against Clemson’s Warren Fraser, clocking in at 6.77. Monal’s time in the finals marked the sixth fastest time in the country this season. Beaver finished with a third-place performance in the triple jump on Friday night at Clemson. The freshman from Virginia Beach, Va. came in behind Georgia Tech’s Alphonso Jordan and South Carolina’s Marcus Stephens with a leap of 47-0.25 (14.33m).
