Wednesday, February 24, 2010 MACON, Ga. - ETSU sprinter Duronal Monal claimed his second A-Sun Track Athlete of Week award Wednesday, but not to be outdone, Belmont’s Joe Frye earned his third Field Athlete of the Week honor.
With one final tune-up before the 2010 Atlantic Sun Indoor Track and Field Championships, Monal made the most of the final competition, as the senior sprinter claimed the 55m title on Thursday night at the Mountaineer Open. The Belle Glade, Fla. native advanced to the finals after winning the prelims with a time of 6:29 and captured the crown in the 55m after sprinting in at 6.27, beating out Appalachian State’s Landon Powell (6.36).
