MACON, Ga. - Kennesaw State's Sadio Diallo and Lipscomb's Gemikal Prude secured Atlantic Sun Indoor Track and Field Weekly honors as announced by the league on Wednesday.
Diallo set a school and meet record at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational to claim first in the 200m, while Prude broke a Bison record in the high jump at the TSU Invite.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Sadio Diallo, Kennesaw State (Sr. – Sprints – Paris, France – Business Management)
- First Career Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award
- Finished first place in the 200m at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational
- Crossed the line in 21.45 to set a school record as well as a meet record in the 200m
- Earned first in the 60m dash with a time of 6.91
- Ran a leg in the 4x400m relay for the Owls to finish seventh out of 17 teams competing
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Tim Muller (Sr., Lipscomb) – Finished first in the mile at the TSU Invite with a time of 4:22.54
- Filip Jalovy (So., ETSU) – Marked an A-Sun best-time this season in the mile run (4:13.22)
- Cameron Thomas (Sr., USC Upstate) – Posted a school record and first-place finish in the 800m (1:53.01)
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Gemikal Prude, Lipscomb (So. – Jumps – Melbourne, Fla. – Journalism)
- First Career Indoor Field Athlete of the Week award
- Finished second place in the high jump at the TSU Invite with a height of 2.08m
- Broke an LU school record that dates back to 1977
- Secured the best finish of the collegiate athletes in the event
- Ranks tied at number two for the best high jump in the A-Sun this season
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Tyler Stepp (Jr., ETSU) – Won gold in the high jump at the Hilton Garden Invitational with a jump of 2.08m
- Kenny Sugishita (Sr., USC Upstate) – Threw for 16m in the weight throw at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational
