Wednesday, August 24, 2005 BOILING SPRINGS, NC – The GWU Men’s Soccer team started out 2005 with a bang. Both returning players and newcomers alike looked impressive as the Bulldogs exploded to beat Limestone 6 –1. From the beginning, the Bulldogs controlled the game keeping the ball on their half of the field for most of the first period. At the end of the first period, GWU led 3-0 with goals contributed by Flippin, McLean, and Snodgrass. The second period was not much better for Limestone as the Bulldogs continued to control the game. With goals from Salvaggione, Ramirez, and a second goal in the game from Senior Loren McLean, the Bulldogs proved to be too much to handle for Limestone’s defense. With the game out of reach, Limestone scored its only goal of the night late in the second period to make the score GWU 6 – Limestone 1 breaking up the shutout for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs look to continue their impressive performance as they kick their 2005 season off against High Point on Saturday, August 27. |
