JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University men's soccer team have high hopes for its first Atlantic Sun Championship this season as the Dolphins release their 2006 schedule.

"I'm really excited for the upcoming season because of the core group we have returning," said JU men's soccer head coach Mike Johnson. "I feel like we met all of our position needs in the new recruiting class, which will contribute for us right away. This should be a very fun season to watch."

The Dolphins open the season on the road against nationally-ranked UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25. They will play eight games at the friendly confines of the Ashley Sports Complex starting with Central Arkansas on Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.

JU will open its A-Sun slate on Saturday, Sept. 30 at cross-town rival North Florida in search of its third consecutive Dennis Violet Memorial Cup. The Dolphins will also try to gain some early points for the second-annual SunTrust River City Rumble.
