Monday, August 28, 2006 BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Richard Jata of Campbell University has been named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week ending Aug. 27. A sophomore midfielder from Port Richey, Fla., Jata scored both goals in his Campbell debut, a 2-1 home victory Saturday night over UNC Wilmington. After a handball call just outside the UNCW box, Jata curled a right-footed direct kick around the Seahawk wall and inside the right post in the 38th minute for his first goal in a Camel jersey. Just over a minute later, the Furman transfer celebrated his second Camel strike. Josh Elliott played a pass down the right flank to Vince Petrasso, who squared to Jata at the top of the area. Jata then turned and hit a left-footed effort by UNCW keeper Brad Knighton. |
