Monday, October 23, 2006 MACON, Ga. – Campbell’s Willy Guadarrama and Stetson’s Ben Dyon led their teams to undefeated weekends in the final set of Atlantic Sun Conference regular season matches to earn the league’s weekly soccer honors as announced by the conference on Monday. Guadarrama scored three goals and assisted on another in a pair of A-Sun wins last week. The reigning A-Sun Player of the Year tallied CU's first goal in 3-1 victory over Belmont and added two strikes (including the game-winner) and an assist in 4-0 blanking of Lipscomb on Saturday. The Cedar Park, Texas native ran his season tally to 17 points (7G, 3A) to move into a tie for 2nd place on the A-Sun goal-scoring list while leading the league with three game-winners. In seven games against A-Sun foes, the junior forward has scored five times, highlighted by two game-winners. He has moved into 13th place on Campbell's all-time (since 1963) goal scoring list with 34 goals in 53 games. Guadarrama majors in Sport Management. Dyon anchored a Stetson defense that dominated Jacksonville and UNF on their way to clinching the regular season title. The Hatters limited each team to a combined four shots on goal in their shutouts. Along the way, the Hatters became the first team since 1995 to finish the A-Sun regular season without a loss. The Barrington, Ill., native added an assist in the victory over UNF. The senior majors in Business. The Atlantic Sun Conference hands out offensive and defensive Player of the Week awards weekly during the 2006 soccer campaign. The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.
