BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Aaron Johnson recorded his 13th career shutout and Campbell defeated UNC Wilmington 3-0 in the men's soccer opener for both schools Friday night at the Eakes Athletic Complex.

Jason Keever and Khalil Johnson scored for the Camels (1-0-0), who won their fourth-straight in the series with their most frequent rival in the program's 45-year history. Friday's result also marked the largest margin of victory in the series since the Camels won a 5-0 decision in October 2000.

The 3-0 victory ended a string of seven-straight one-goal results between the schools. Campbell won two of the previous three decisions in overtime.

"It was another great game in our series with Wilmington, but I don't necessarily think the final score was indicative of how tight the game was," said seventh-year Camel head coach Doug Hess.
