The Lipscomb Bisons soccer team has been named one of the top 20 "Most Improved” Teams in NCAA Division I based on their 2008 season.

The Bisons were 10-8-3 overall last season, their first overall winning record in the NCAA era. They were 5-3-1 in Atlantic Sun Conference games, finishing third overall. It was the second straight winning record in conference play. The Bisons advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament for the second straight season.

“To have this distinction twice in the last three years speaks volumes for what the program has done over the last three or four years,” said coach Charles Morrow who is entering his fifth season. “It speaks to the success and the hard work to guys who have been here and come and gone and to the younger guys who have seen the improvement early and bought into it and wanted to be a part of this.

“We had our best year in program history in 2007 and then we started six to seven freshmen last year and did even better,” said Morrow. “It speaks to the talent we had come in last year, but also to the improvement and the direction of the program.”
