Men's Soccer Two-A-Days: Third Edition

MACON, Ga. - Each day from August 26th through September 1st, the Atlantic Sun Conference will preview the upcoming 2010 Men’s Soccer season with the A-Sun Two-A-Days, where we interview a player or coach from each of the eleven A-Sun teams. Today we talked with Ian Cameron from Mercer and Adam O'Neill of UNF.

Game to Watch: Sun., September 26th vs. Wofford, 4 p.m. - In one of two non-conference home games for Mercer, the Bears face the defending SoCON Champions, who went 12-3-3 last season. The two teams squared off last season with Wofford claiming a 1-0 double-overtime victory.

Top Returning Scorer: Ian Cameron, Sr., Midfield - Cameron tallied seven goals and four assists to lead the Bears with 18 pints en route to claiming All-Atlantic Sun team honors as well as an All-Tournament nod. The Glasgow, Scotland native registered two multi-goal games coming against Georgia Southern and Belmont.

First Conference Game: The Bears will have revenge on their mind when they open the 2010 A-Sun schedule with USC Upstate, who defeated Belmont 2-1 last season in Macon. Mercer, who advanced to the A-Sun Championship Final in 200, is 1-2 all-time against the Spartans.

Games to watch: Sat., Sept. 11th, 8:30 p.m. at UAB - The Ospreys face host school, UAB, in the UAB "Soccer for a Cure" Classic after playing Memphis the previous day. UAB, who went 12-4-2 last season, finished third in Conference USA, while UNF will be replacing five starters from last year's fourth place A-Sun team.

Top Returning Scorer: Adam O'Neill, Sr., MF/F – O'Neill, a Preseason All-Atlantic Sun member, led the Ospreys in points (13), goals (6) and match-winning goals (2). His match-winning goals both came in conference games against Stetson and USC Upstate, while also picking up goals against Green Bay, Florida Atlantic, Lipscomb and Mercer.

First Conference Game: Crosstown rival, Jacksonville, visits UNF's campus for the A-Sun opener on October 3rd at 7 p.m. UNF won last season's face-off, 2-1, but Jacksonville came away with the 1-0 victory in 2008.
