JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Junior Aaron Schoenfeld received College Soccer New National Team of the Week honors for his two overtime game-winning goals against Marshall and UNC Asheville, announced College Soccer News on Monday.

“Aaron’s play in and around the box has been impressive,” said head coach Scott Calabrese. “He has been critical to our early season success. Aaron is a unique player in my experience as he has tremendous work rate, and at 6-foot-4 is physically imposing.  However, he is also technically very gifted and has created chances and scored goals in many different ways.  I am really pleased for Aaron to receive these accolades as he has worked hard to become the player he is.”

In the Marshall game, Schoenfeld had an assist to give the Bucs (5-2-0) a 1-0 lead early in the match, and then netted the game-winner in the 97th minute as he headed in the cross from freshman Itode Fubara (Ogbema, Nigeria).

Schoenfeld came up big in the UNC Asheville contest as well as his goal in the 103rd minute lifted the Bucs past the Bulldogs, 2-1.
