Tuesday, October 05, 2010 MACON, Ga. – Both ETSU (7-2, 2-0) and FGCU (6-2-2, 2-0) saw their names appear in week five of the NSCAA Men's Soccer South Region Poll this week, but just one spot lower than they appeared in the previous poll. The Buccaneers dropped one spot from eighth to ninth place, while the Eagles claimed the seventh spot. With the start of Atlantic Sun Conference play last week, both teams opened 2-0 in league games as the Bucs defeated Campbell, 4-0, and Mercer, 2-1, while the Eagles took down Lipscomb, 2-1 in overtime, and Belmont, 2-0.
In total, three teams from the A-Sun have appeared in the rankings so far this season as Jacksonville earned an eighth-place ranking in week two of the poll. The Eagles have been in the poll for four weeks and reached as high as fifth in the opening week of the poll for their victory at then-ranked No. 13 USF. |
