Wednesday, October 13, 2010 MACON, Ga. – Six men’s soccer team from the Atlantic Sun Conference appeared in the top-100 of the NCAA RPI, which was released on Tuesday. FGCU topped the list for the A-Sun with their 21st place ranking as the Eagles stand at 8-2-2 on the season. ETSU, Stetson and Campbell are the next three A-Sun teams on the list at 51st, 68th and 77th. The Bucs are 7-4-0 on the season and have appeared in the NSCAA South Region poll twice this season and posted wins over Clemson and Marshall during their non-conference slate. With a perfect 4-0 record in conference play, the Hatters are 7-2-1 thus far, while Campbell defeated Charlotte and claimed a tie against UNC Greensboro. Mercer and Lipscomb took spots in the top-100 with their 78th and 93rd place rankings. The Bears are 6-3-1 on the year and recently defeated No. 29 UAB 1-0 and had a six-game winning streak earlier in the season. With an even .500 record, the Bisons have faced one of the toughest schedules in the A-Sun with matches against four ranked teams throughout the season. To go along with the six teams in the top-100 of the NCAA RPI, the A-Sun has had four teams ranked in the NSCAA South Region Poll and FGCU is currently ranked No. 24 in the Soccer America poll. This weekend of conference play marks the halfway point of league play and only four weekends away from the 2010 Atlantic Sun Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament. |
