Harrison & Petricek Claim Final Weekly Honors

MACON, Ga. – Florida Gulf Coast finished its unblemished conference season with a decisive rout of UNF behind three Scott Harrison goals, while Brett Petricek helped Mercer win the right to host a first round A-Sun Championship Match with a sweep of Belmont and Lipscomb. The duo claimed the final weekly awards of the 2010 season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Scott Harrison, FGCU (F – Jr. – Cocoa, Fla. – Physical Therapy)
• First A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Notched the first hat trick in program history against UNF
• Scored his second and third goals in a three-minute span of the second half
• Helped seal the Eagles unblemished run to their first A-Sun regular season crown

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Brett Petricek, Mercer (GK – So. – Woodbridge, Ill.)
• Second A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week award
• Matched season-best with six saves in 2-0 shutout of Lipscomb
• Collected his sixth shutout of the year, moving into a tie for eighth in the A-Sun record book
• Ran his career shutout total to 10, good for third in Mercer history and 12th in A-Sun history


OTHER NOMINEES:
• Matthew O’Shaugnessy (D, FGCU) – Headed defense that allowed just five shots on goal
• Gonzalo de Mujica (MF, Stetson) – Scored two goals in two matches
• Aaron Schoenfeld (F, ETSU) – Notched two goals in 4-1 win against USC Upstate to clinch No. 1 seed in 2010 A-Sun Championship
• Richie Edmondson (F, Mercer) – Scored game-winner versus Lipscomb
• Keegan Terry (F, Campbell) – Netted three goals and his five total goals led the league in conference play
