2011 A-Sun Fall Season Spotlight: USC Upstate

MACON, Ga. - The 2011 Atlantic Sun Conference Fall Seasons are previewed by each of the ten institutions with a sit-down talk with the respective athletic directors. USC Upstate - in its first year of full Division I membership - starts off the fall preview with the Spartans' Athletic Director Mike Hall talking with Bill English, the Associate Athletics Director for Media Relations.

Women's Soccer Capsule
Predicted Finish: 10th
2010 Overall Record (A-Sun): 3-13-2 (1-7-2; 10th)

Note: Under first-year head coach Renee Lopez in 2010, the Spartans posted their highest winning percentage (.222) since joining the A-Sun.

Men's Soccer Capsule

Note: Goalkeeper Jason McCabe and midfielder Timo Foerster - two of ten returning seniors - ranked second and fourth in the A-Sun last season for total saves (69) and assists per game (.40), respectively.

Note: At the 2010 A-Sun Championship - hosted by the Spartans - the men's team posted a program-best finish of third with Gilbert Kemboi winning the individual crown, while the women's team tied the program-best with a fourth-place finish.
