MACON, Ga. – Belmont’s Brandon Tarr leapfrogged into first place of the Atlantic Sun Men’s Soccer points lead with his seven-point weekend, while Mercer’s Joey Heavner tallied three asssits to help the Bears to two wins.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Brandon Tarr, Belmont (Jr. – Forward – Knoxville, Tenn. – Business Administration)
- Second Career Player of the Week award
- Tallied one goal and an assist in 3-2 win against Bowling Green on Friday
- Added two goals in 4-0 rout of IPFW on Sunday to lead Bruins to Hyatt Place Invite Title
- Leads the A-Sun in points (11) and is tied for league lead in goals (5)
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Henrik Synnes (Fr., Jacksonville) – Scored first-career goal against Temple on Friday
- Will Betts (Jr., Mercer) – Netted game-winner vs. VMI; tallied two assists vs. Georgia Southern
- Garret Pettis (Sr., Lipscomb) – Registered three goals in ties against IPFW and Bowling Green
- David Geno (So., ETSU) – Drove home the game-winner against Davidson in the 87th minute
- Francesco DiStefano (Sr., FGCU) – Provided the deciding goal in 1-0 shutout of Saint Louis
