ETSU Rallies to Snap FGCU's 12-Game A-Sun Winning Streak

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (October 16, 2011) – Down 1-0 at the start of the second half, redshirt freshman Nick Dykes (Nashville, Tenn.) put in the equalizer and sophomore David Geno (Kingsport, Tenn.) sent in the game-winner as the ETSU men’s soccer team completed the comeback to defeat Florida Gulf Coast, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at Summers-Taylor Stadium.

Dykes’ equalizer came in the 53rd minute before Geno sent in the game-winner in the 57th minute. The victory is ETSU’s first over FGCU since October 16, 2009, and is FGCU’s first loss in conference play during the regular season since falling to Stetson on Nov. 1, 2009.

The victory jumps ETSU to 8-4-2, 2-3-1 A-Sun, while FGCU falls to 6-4-2, 3-1-0 A-Sun in its first conference loss of the season.
