Monday, October 24, 2011 MACON, Ga. – Stetson’s Jonathan Mendoza and Luis Ocejo earned Atlantic Sun Conference men’s soccer weekly awards after leading the Hatters to an undefeated week that clinched a berth in the 2011 A-Sun Championship. PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jonathan Mendoza, Stetson (Jr. – Midfielder – Bogota, Colombia – Engineering) • Third Career Player of the Week award; second this season • Netted the game-winner in wins vs Belmont and Lipscomb • Two second-half goals against Lipscomb broke open a 1-1 halftime tie • Leads the A-Sun with nine goals and 22 points OTHER NOMINEES: • Andres Navas (Jr., FGCU) – Scored game-winner at Lipscomb and added assist at Belmont • Carl-Oscar Andersson (Fr., Mercer) – Netted game-winner in 79th minute at ETSU DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Luis Ocejo, Stetson (Defender – Mexico City, Mexico – International Business) • First Career Player of the Week award • Marked the league’s top-two goal scorers heading into the weekend, holding both scoreless • Did not surrender a shot attempt in match-up with Belmont’s Brandon Tarr • Also kept Lipscomb’s Garrett Pettis without a shot OTHER NOMINEES: • Nathan Ingham (Fr., FGCU) – Filling in for Adam Glick, made seven saves in two wins • Greg Ranjitsingh (Fr., Mercer) – Ran his league leading shutout total to seven • Henrik Synnes (Fr., Jacksonville) – Led a defense that limited UNF to just six shots in shutout
