Monday, November 07, 2011 MACON, Ga. - Following the Atlantic Sun Conference's announcement of men's soccer postseason accolades, which included honorees Belmont junior Brandon Tarr (Knoxville, Tenn.) and sophomore Nico Olsak (Boca Raton, Fla.), the league announced its final Players of the Week on Monday afternoon. Tarr and junior goalkeeper Lou Manning (Southlake, Texas) were named A-Sun Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Bruins to a 3-0 season-ending victory over Eastern Illinois in Belmont's only game of the week on Tuesday. Fresh off his First Team All-Conference honor, Tarr picked up his third Player of the Week accolades of the season. The forward scored a pair of goals in BU's win over the Panthers, giving him 10 on the season and tying him for the most in the conference. Manning picked up his second A-Sun Weekly honor on Monday. The goalkeeper started every game for Belmont this season, and finished the year with four saves during the first 45 minutes of the Bruins' shutout against EIU. Manning totaled 90 saves on the season, good enough for a tie for the league lead. Follow the Atlantic Sun on Twitter and become a fan on Facebook. |
