Sunday, September 08, 2013

ORLANDO, Fla. – It took just seconds longer than regulation for UNF men's soccer to stun UCF on Sunday, as Pedro Carneiro placed the ball in the top left corner of the goal just 25 seconds into overtime to give the Ospreys a 1-0 victory at the UCF Soccer Complex on Sunday evening.

North Florida played the Knights to a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation, forcing overtime for just the second time in the series. The Ospreys wasted little time as Pedro Carneiro fired the golden goal just over the head of the goalkeeper less than a minute into the extra period. Goalkeeper Brad Sienkiewicz also recorded the shutout.

The victory was the second for the Ospreys in the series with the last win a 3-2 double overtime victory in Jacksonville in 2007.
