MACON, Ga. – JU’s Tommy Krizanovic and Mercer’s Omar Liendo received the Atlantic Sun Conference’s weekly soccer honors as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Krizanovic tallied two goals, two assists and recorded six points to help the Dolphins defeat Central Arkansas, 4-3, in overtime at the JU/Nike Invitational.
The senior scored the game-winning goal in overtime shortly after dishing out the game-tying assist to send the game to overtime. The forward was named SoccerFLA.com "Player of the Week" for his efforts against Central Arkansas. A native of Slavonski Brod, Croatia, Krizanovic has scored a league-best eight goals in JU’s first four matches just one year after ranking second nationally in goals per game as a junior. He earns A-Sun POTW honors for the first time in his career. Krizanovic majors in International Business.
Liendo helped carry Mercer to the UAB Classic title after the Bears posted consecutive shutouts at the tournament. In the tourney opener, Mercer blanked 15th-ranked UAB on their home field in a 0-0 draw. Two days later, the senior added an assist while the defense surrendered just one shot on goal during a white-washing of Birmingham-Southern. For his efforts over the weekend, Liendo was one of four Bears named to the All-Tournament team. The La Paz, Bolivia native majors in Business Administration.

The 12-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UNF and Stetson with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate beginning competition in 2007-08.
