David Demers Captures Second Consecutive POW For FAU

Macon, Ga. - For the second week in a row, a Florida Atlantic player has captured
weekly honors. David Demers was named Atlantic Sun Player of the week
today by the conference office.
Demers led the Owls to two victories and ended the week 3-0 at no. 2 singles and
no. 1 doubles. Demers, a native of Duisberg, Germany, defeated conference foe
Jacksonville, 6-0, 6-0.
He returned to the court two days later to capture a hard fought contest against
FAMU, 6-4, 6-4. He also was a part of the doubles team that won 8-5.
FAU will be back in action when they take intrastate and league rival Stetson,
Saturday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m.
The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week every Tuesday during
the 2006 men's tennis campaign.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb,
Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
