Macon, Ga. - Stetson's Mario Cayo (Lima, Peru,/Business) was named Atlantic Sun
Player of the week today by the conference office.
The senior was undefeated last week with a 2-0 singles mark and 2-0 doubles mark.
He helped the Hatters win its A-Sun opener against Florida Atlantic, taking a
singles win over Mauricio Paiz and teaming up with Birger Soiland to knock off
Paiz and Gianfranco Dossena. Cayo then earned singles wins against Division II
Florida Tech, who is ranked 40th in the nation.
The Hatters will be back in action when they host UNF, February 18 at 4 p.m.
The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week every Tuesday during
the 2006 men's tennis campaign.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb,
Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
