Macon, Ga. - Florida Atlantic senior Kevin Obletz (Delray Beach, Fla./Economics)
was named men's tennis Atlantic Sun Player of the Week today by the conference
office.
Obletz won his singles and doubles matches in FAU's 5-1 loss to UNF last Saturday.
He defeated conference foe UNF's Jose Terrera 6-4, 6-4 and teamed up with David
Demers to defeat Leonardo Gomes and German Escallon 9-7. He is the third men's
player from FAU to receive Player of the Week honors this season.
The Owls will next play host to Boston University, 1 p.m., March 7, at Patch Reef
Park.
The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week every Tuesday during
the 2006 men's tennis campaign.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb,
Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
