Macon, Ga. - Mercer's Warren Woolfolk earned his second consecutive Atlantic
Sun Men's Tennis Player of the Week today as announced by the conference office.
The senior from Columbus, Ga., had a 3-0 week, with two wins in No. 2 singles
and one in No. 1 doubles. Woolfolk helped the Bears to a 2-0 week as they defeated
Florida Atlantic and Georgia Southern handily.
On April 3, Woolfolk defeated FAU's J.P. Bounassar in straight sets and came
back three days later to knock off Georgia Southern's Joris De Weerdt. With teammate
Tobias Ohrstrom, he also defeated De Weerdt and Patry 8-4.
Woolfolk is 15-6 on the season in singles play, winning 11 straight. He is also
undefeated in the conference and 12-7 in doubles play. This is Mercer's fourth
A-Sun weekly men's tennis award of the season.
Woolfolk and the Bears are the No. 3 seed going into the Atlantic Sun Tennis
Championship to be held April 12-15 at the John Drew Tennis Center in Macon,
Ga.
The Atlantic Sun Conference announces the Player of the Week every Tuesday during
the 2006 men's tennis campaign.
The 11-member league headquartered in Macon, Ga., consists of Belmont, Campbell,
ETSU, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb,
Mercer, North Florida and Stetson.
