MACON, Ga. - The Atlantic Sun men and women's tennis champions are awaiting
their fate to find out who they will play in the NCAA Tournament.
The NCAA tennis selection show will air on ESPNews on May 3 with the men's announcement
at 8:30 pm and the women's at 8:45 pm ET. In addition, the ESPNEWS audio signal
is available on the ESPNEWS channel on XM Radio and SIRIUS Radio.
Belmont men's team captured its first A-Sun championship and the league's automatic
berth on April 15. The Bruins, who were a No. 4 seed, knocked off top-seeded
ETSU and second-seeded Stetson to take the title. Belmont finished with a 7-8
overall record.
ETSU's women's team was the top-seed in its first season in the A-Sun, and lived
up to expectations as they did not allow a point to a conference opponent this
season and only dropped one set in tournament.
The men and women's first and second rounds will be held May 12-17 at various
campus sites, which have not been determined yet.
Both finals will take place in Stanford, Calif. at the Taube Tennis Center.
The women's dates are May 18-29 and the men's dates are May 20-29.
