Men's Tennis All-Conference Teams Announced

MACON, Ga. - The Atlantic Sun Conference today announced it's men's tennis All-Conference team today as selected by the league's 10 head coaches.

Stetson's Marcus Echtler was named Player of the Year, ETSU's Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) was chosen as Freshman of the Year and Belmont Head Coach Jim Madrigal was voted Coach of the Year.

In addition to Player of the Year accolades, Echtler was a unanimous pick to the All-Atlantic Sun first team. The sophomore from Venice, Fla., posted a 15-5 record in No. 1 singles and went 3-1 in conference play. When teamed with doubles partner and fellow All-Atlantic Sun first teamer Serguei Boulanov, Echtler was 13-8 for the season and earned Player of the Week this season.

Boulanov was 15-4 for the season playing various positions. The rookie from Bradenton, Fla. was undefeated at the No. 1 and 4 positions and went 7-3 at No. 2 and 5-1 at No. 3

Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) also earned first team All-Atlantic Sun and All-Freshman team honors en route to Freshman of the Year. He was 27-8 overall this season, with a majority of his wins coming in at the No. 4 position (11-4). He was 19-3 in doubles play with teammate Sebastian Serrano.

Other Bucs joining Olivares on the first team are Felix Insaurralde (Asuncion, Paraguay) and Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela). Insaurralde was an unanimous pick to the first team with a 19-13 overall record. He was 12-8 at No. 2 and 2-0 at No. 1. In doubles, he was 14-9. Posada was 12-21 in singles play and16-10 in doubles with Juan Crosa.

Belmont's Felipe Lima earns first team honors for the third consecutive year. Lima, a Sao Paulo, Brazil native, was 10-9 in singles play while competing mostly at the No. 1 position. He also combined with fellow countryman Felipe Abreu for an 8-6 doubles mark.

Two-time Atlantic Sun Player of the Week Warren Woolfolk (Columbus, Ga.) was selected to the first team after a 14-6 singles season. He was undefeated in conference play during the regular season and went 11-17 in No. 1 doubles with Tobias Ohrstrom.

Rounding out the first team is Campbell's Florent Wilpotte (Hazebrouck, France). Wilpotte earns first-team honors for the first time after being named second team All-Atlantic Sun the past two years. Wilpotte was 5-6 in regular season singles play and 2-0 in doubles.
