Friday, April 08, 2011 MACON, Ga. - The final weekend of play holds high drama for Atlantic Sun Conference tennis. More than half the field has clinched a spot in the championship highlighted by defending champ ETSU who has clinched a first round bye. Campbell, UNF and Stetson, who is locked into the No. 4 seed, join the Bucs as safely in the field. Four other teams remain alive for the final two spots. With only six teams participating in this year’s championship, the top-two seeds will receive a bye into the semifinals. Below is the various seeding options for each team as well as the remaining slate of conference matches. Note that this is not an exhaustive list of scenarios but a brief highlight of potential outcomes. ETSU (15-6, 9-1 A-Sun) Best possible seed: No. 1 if JU defeats UNF. Other seed possibilities: No. 2 UNF (13-6, 8-1) Best possible seed: No. 1 if UNF defeats JU. Other seed possibilities: No. 2 or No. 3 Campbell (16-3, 7-2) Best possible seed: No. 2 if Campbell defeats USC Upstate AND JU defeats UNF.
