Dean Tsamas Collects First A-Sun Weekly Honors

MACON, Ga. – FGCU's Dean Tsamas picks up his first career Atlantic Sun Player of the Week award after a perfect 2-0 weekend in singles and doubles, announced Wednesday by the league office. Tsamas' wins helped the Eagles go 2-0 this weekend. The award is also only the second ever Player of the Week award for the Eagles, who last won the award in 2008 with Andrew Kam.

Dean Tsamas, FGCU (So. – Lexington, Ky.; Business Management)
• First Career A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles on the week helping FGCU to a 2-0 week
• Won at No. 3 doubles against GSU's Sebastien Felt and Daniel Rush, 8-2 and rallied for a match-clinching singles win, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4)
• Won in straight sets against Bethune-Cookman's Juan Varon, who was previously undefeated, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 3 singles.
• Won three straight matches to improve his dual match record to 3-1.
