MACON, Ga. – ETSU's Sander Gille picks up his first career Atlantic Sun Player of the Week award after a 2-1 week in the No. 1 singles position, announced Wednesday by the league office. Gille's wins came against No. 38 Nebraska's Benedikt Lindheim, who is also ranked No. 78 by the ITA, and Denver's Enoj Bonin.
MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Sander Gille, ETSU (So. – Kurringen, Belgium; Management)
• First Career A-Sun Player of the Week award
• Went 2-1 at the No. 1 singles position, winning his match against No. 38 Nebraska and Denver
• Won at No. 1 singles against Denver's Enoj Bonin 6-4, 6-2
• Against No. 38 Nebraska, Gille defeated No. 78 Benedikt Lindheim 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles position
• Is 1-1 against ITA-ranked opponents on the season.
