MACON, Ga. – FGCU's Dean Tsamas picked up the first Atlantic Sun Men's Tennis weekly award of the season with his two victories in singles play, announced Wednesday by the league office.
It marks his second career A-Sun men's tennis honor and the third in FGCU's program history.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Dean Tsamas, FGCU (Jr. – Lexington, Ky, – Business Management)
- Second Career A-Sun Player of the Week honor
- Went 2-1 in singles play to open the season
- Earned first win vs. 73rd ranked Chris Helliar from UAB
- Lone loss was to No. 32 Florida State in three sets
OTHER NOMINEES:
- Rogerio Ribeiro (So., ETSU) - Helped ETSU to win vs. Oklahoma State; winning at No. 2 singles
- Matthias Kidler (Jr., USC Upstate) - Earned two-set win at No. 1 singles vs. Presbyterian
