FGCU's Bao Claims First Career A-Sun Men's Tennis Honor

MACON, Ga. – FGCU's Tianyu Bao claimed the third Atlantic Sun Men's Tennis weekly award of the season after going 2-0 in singles play against Troy and Southern Methodist.

It marked Bao's first two wins of the spring season in singles play.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Tianyu Bao, FGCU (So. – Tianjin, China – Communication)

  • First Career A-Sun Player of the Week honor
  • Recorded two wins in straight sets on the week
  • Won at No. 1 singles vs. Troy vs. Andre Stiable; 6-4, 6-3
  • Added win at No. 2 singles vs. SMU's Alex Sanders; 6-4, 6-4
OTHER NOMINEES:
  • Juan Ramirez (Sr., ETSU) - Won at No. 2 singles and doubles in ETSU's win vs. Appalachian State
  • Cahit Kapukiran (Fr., Stetson) - Picked up a singles and doubles victory for Stetson vs. Flagler
